Moving from Duality to Unity

Are you feeling comfortable with the way reality is unfolding? Do you question whether you have any influence or control over things anymore? I’ve been reflecting on the current global situation and these reflections are connected with what I see happening in my own country. These are not easy times. These are rapidly changing times with no guarantees of certainty around anything, except the possibility of further changes and disruptions. Normalcy no longer exists. Yet, what can be done to support constructive changes? How can you and I in any way influence the outcomes that are still to manifest into reality?

The words ‘unity’ and ‘duality’ keep popping into mind. This I find tantalizing. What do they convey and how are they relevant to current issues?

When I reflect on the word ‘duality’ I observe that our co-created existence has its roots and basis in this construct, in all areas of life. Duality exists in politics, religion, business, competition, sports, race, ageism, sexism etc. Duality permeates every area of life and it seeps into and becomes embedded into language, everyday functioning, rules and regulations that are administered. Duality is what you are born into and it’s so entrenched that it becomes an unconscious mechanism for how life is lived. Beliefs are shaped by life experiences, just as fears are shaped by perceptions, beliefs and experiences. Duality has led to, and perpetuates the idea of differences and separation.

I’m summarizing this very briefly, hoping to stir your memories where you’ve witnessed or even experienced a Them versus Us situation or system. My understanding is that this division in perception and beliefs become habits that are fully embedded within societal functioning, thereby furthering the sense of alienation and separation. Your understanding and perceptions around this duality that’s been co-created is that possibly this is how things are meant to be. In fact, I’d suggest that the normalization of duality throughout countless facets of our culture has been highly successful.

Will duality improve, enhance, support each and every member of society? Will it ensure an equal and harmonious quality of life? Or will the perceived differences between Them and Us fester and strengthen, resulting in continued conflict, anger, judgment, mistrust etc?

As my musings have gone down this path I’ve come to the conclusion that a co-created duality culture is damaging to such a degree that the only option left is, as a culture, to begin formulating strategies and ways of creating unity in everyday life. In other words, it’s up to you and I and all people interested in creating a new, healthier reality.

All change begins from within. Gandhi said words to the effect, “You must be the change you wish for”. What does this mean? And how can this shift within manifest significantly to create unity changes through all layers of society?

How you choose to work in unity, rather than duality, is your responsibility. Your implementation of living in unity with others may differ from how another person chooses to do it. However, I firmly believe that shifting from a Them and Us judgmental and intolerant perspective to a We perspective is the beginning of creating a real change in the world.

Adhering to the meaning of the Gandhi statement I’ve been observing my responses to what I hear, witness and understand from the world around me. Through a process of mindfulness I’m finding that my language is changing. Words are powerful, they hold energy. Emotions are powerful and also hold energy. Words/thoughts combined with action are even more potent.

My process for this has been influenced by the conversations I have with my youngest son. He’s intelligent and articulate and often we engage in what would appear to be disagreements on issues such as politics, religion, economy etc. Ironically it soon became apparent that we were often of a similar mindset, we simply approached our understanding and experiences from a different perspective. These lively discussions have enabled me to open my eyes further, in terms of understanding and acceptance. Giving credit and acknowledgement has become an important ingredient in conversations. In many instances my children have become my teachers due to their sharing and wisdom.

A repeated statement, We’re  all in this together, has become the slogan for the Covid health issue in Australia. When I reflect on this statement there’s a much broader implication and application. Nowadays my understanding of this is that there’s no such thing as separation. “You hold a perception, I hold a perception so let’s talk about it.” In other words, what are the commonalities? How is it possible to allay fears and garner strength? What can I share and learn from you, and you from me? How can we reconcile and accept differences, and work with them to create bridges to understanding?

Listening, reflecting and a willingness to accept different perspectives without judgment is an indication of maturity. It’s what happens when the changes within deepen and emerge to embrace a new understanding of unity and oneness.

There are many steps to this process of shifting from duality to unity. Working with the power of language is only one aspect of the process. Developing empathy supports the process. Willingness to let go of dated beliefs and to embrace new perspectives helps. Listening instead of wanting to be heard all the time develops understanding. Attempting to view the world through the eyes of another person’s experiences may provide new insights. Caring and sharing as often as possible enhances the unity process.

I feel strongly that if there’s anything that can help change the uncertainty and fear in the world then the practice of developing Unity is important. The long held deeply entrenched constructs of separation, duality and differences must, in some way, be minimized and ultimately removed from our culture. We’re all in this together, and it’s up to us to make a massive difference in the world.

What are your thoughts on this subject? Is it possible to shift the focus from duality to unity, from separation to oneness? What techniques and strategies can be developed? How can each person make a difference? What is the long term potential for manifesting such a shift?

These are some of the many questions that can be asked of everyone. I used to believe that one person could not make a difference in the world. Now I see it’s possible. Planting a seed of possibility has the potential to manifest life changing realities. So I ask you to consider the ways in which you are able to contribute to shifting the focus from duality to unity? Every small contribution (words, thoughts, actions) adds to the energy of creating constructive, beneficial shifts.

2019 – New Year, New Energies

Hi Everyone

It feels as though I’m finally coming out of my self-imposed semi-retirement. It’s definitely been a long time since I deeply felt the urge to get back into the fray on more than a part-time basis. When I reflect on the past five to six years it’s apparent that I’ve truly needed this time ‘out’. It’s been a wonderful opportunity to simply try my hand at different things, to explore opportunities other than continuing on, doing what I’ve been doing almost non-stop since I commenced working full time in my particular speciality twenty years ago.

In many ways these past few years have felt aimless and uncertain. Many a time I’ve felt as though maybe it was time to once again become intent and serious about working full time. Yet every time that urge surfaced it disappeared just as quickly, often leaving me feeling dissatisfied and confused. Now, finally, there’s certainty and surety as to direction and purpose.

The reason I’m sharing this particular bit of personal information is because I’m not the only one who’s been uncertain, who’s had to deal with stops and starts in life and business direction and has experienced real confusion. But, the good news is that this is the year for clarity, purpose, direction and motivation to beckon and thrive.

2018 was a year of unrest, uncertainty and turmoil on every level. By this I mean it was a wonderful, yet distressing year worldwide. It was a year of purging old energies. It was a year of confronting fears and demons. Witnessing and experiencing the many facets of hatred, pain, violence, anger and uncertainty was something that as a collective we needed to experience.

2019 promises so much more. If you’ve been following the astrology indications for 2019 you’ll know that we’re in for more upheaval for part of the year, but that ultimately there’s the potential for massive positive changes. For many of us the veil has thinned significantly and intuitive abilities have become amplified. Others are finding greater clarity and strength in regards to purpose and direction. Some are finding that their inner pain is rapidly becoming a thing of the past as they’re connecting more easily with their heart center.

In some instances this year will be a year of significant change, in others not so much. It all depends on what your soul signed up for prior to embodiment. However, there are a few points I believe that need to be stressed for this year.

Right now is the time to Walk Your Talk. Whoever you are and whatever you are here to do this is truly the time to live that aspect of yourself to the fullest. Talk and share your knowing and truths. This is not the time to hide your light under a bushel or to pretend otherwise in order to fit in with others’ beliefs and perceptions. The mass awakening and shift in consciousness is happening rapidly. Your knowledge, skills and wisdom are definitely needed.

Let go of old beliefs, biases and anything that creates angst within you. 2018 was filled with criticism, judgment and anger with a great deal of vitriol expressed via social media. This is not an energy that is supported in 2019. Whatever you are still feeling in terms of intolerance, hatred etc will rebound and you’ll feel the brunt of your own emotions and words come back like a boomerang. Right now a healthy motto would be Live and Let Live.

If you have not yet figured out your purpose then don’t fret. When the time is right it will come to you. Instead allow life to flow through you. Find the magic and joy. Find inner peace and inner harmony. For some individuals 2019 is the year in which their sense of purpose strengthens, but it will only surface when the inner landscape is at peace.

Some individuals have a mission, and 2019 is the year when the energy supports this development. Mission is different to purpose. Every embodied soul has a purpose, whether that purpose be to learn, to understand love, to be creative. A mission is for the greater good of humanity. It exists outside an individual’s personal development and growth. 2019 holds an energy that magnifies intention. Make it work for you!

Finally, I’m often reminded of The Four Agreements (Don Miguel Ruiz), artfully expressed yet incredibly powerful. Simply remembering and applying them to all facets of your life will truly make a difference this year. They are:

  • Take nothing personally
  • Make no assumptions
  • Be impeccable with your word
  • Always do your very best

Love and bliss

Moving With The Times

“In case you haven’t noticed, there is an awakening going on. The world over, people are wising up to the countless distortions of our society and beginning to remember – once again – who and what we really are. And as a result, we are rejecting the poisons sold to us as “medicine”, the controls sold to us as “freedom”, the junk sold to us as “food”, and the lies sold to us as “truth”.

There are many ways this shift is manifesting, and being manifested. Ordinary people are embracing a new awareness and a revived sense of activism, and as a result we are standing on the brink of the biggest social revolution our planet has ever seen. As economies crumble around us, institutions are being exposed as control mechanisms and politicians are being revealed for what they are. As we approach a critical mass of awareness, it is our role to shape the future into something that works for us, not against us.

Sound overwhelming? It isn’t. The truth is – this kind of social revolution starts with our personal inner revolution.”

This excerpt was taken from New Dawn magazine, Vol.9, No.5 and written by Andy Whiteley, co-founder of www.wakeup-world.com.

When reading this beginning to a brief commentary by Andy Whiteley I will admit to a short chuckle as it seemed these words have been expressed by me in countless writings for the past few years. Yet simultaneously I was elated as what I’ve seen coming is now manifesting more tangibly and evidently. It’s undeniable that there is a shift or transformation occurring. This transformation manifests in various ways, and differently, according to previous experiences, perceptions and beliefs.

Locally I’m seeing greater activism occurring. Animal rights organizations are becoming more vocal. Voters are expressing their concern and discontent at decisions made politically. It seems the level of apathy regarding issues that impact lives on a daily basis is receding and there’s more questioning of the status quo. And, of course the worldwide refugee crisis is playing a critical role in opening hearts and engendering a spirit of cooperation and humanitarianism.

Interestingly – thanks to the internet – there seems to be more secrets revealed. Many of these secrets show that what we’ve been told are historical facts are actually fiction. Stories have been changed to suit particular agendas and ideologies. A great deal of information that’s been suppressed is also emerging, resulting in some scientific ‘truths’ to now being highly questionable.

Why is this all happening now? If you reflect back to December 2012 many in the spiritually aware community anticipated a significant shift, which in many instances didn’t manifest as anticipated. However, since that time it seems as though things are changing markedly and rapidly in our world. There is a definite speeding up in events and in the cosmic frequencies that impact our planet.

A gifted numerologist that I’ve known for many years has pointed out that 2015 is an 8 global year. In simple terms this means that it’s a year of reaping what has been sown. It’s also a year in which whatever’s been hidden becomes apparent.

About 15 years ago I channelled that deeply suppressed secrets would be revealed; that the truth of our real heritage would be shown; that there would be a mass awakening in consciousness. Interestingly there was also quite a bit of information channelled about Earth also going through a shift in her consciousness, and along with that all living forms on the planet would be changing. It’s now happening!

So where does this leave us? Where are we heading? Sometimes the crystal bowl isn’t too clear, especially when it comes to exact times or how things will unfold. However, many times I’ve received information from the non-physical realm that we are shifting into a reality where there will be two distinct levels of consciousness existing side by side – one consciousness being aware or awakened, the other remaining mired in the old energies and belief systems.

That duality is definitely apparent now. In fact, the distinction is actually becoming more evident. Recently I received information which indicates that by the end of this year we would really be feeling the shift. Apparently there’s likely to be a reset of Earth’s energies in early 2016. What this actually means in terms of scientific processes is beyond my capabilities to understand. At a layperson’s level I interpret that to mean that there’s going to be a change in Earth’s energy field. If this is the case then it could have both a profound, and possibly subtle, impact on all life on the planet.

One possibility is that accountability for all your actions will be more immediate and evident. I’m unable to speak for others yet will admit that I’m experiencing the cause and effect of all thoughts and actions very rapidly nowadays, resulting in the need for greater mindfulness in every undertaking.

It seems that Earth’s population is not yet at that point where there are two realities co-existing side by side. Currently there are three realities – and within those three realities there exists quite a continuum of differences.

The first group are individuals who have achieved a state of evolvement, which means they have completed all their karmic duties, cleared deep seated wounds and hold a great deal of light. Basically they are incredibly clear, working through their higher self and in alignment with their purpose without the burden of fears and old baggage.

This group will find life a lot easier; creation and manifestation will be almost automatic. All their striving to live with passion and to fulfil their purpose will be achieved. In addition, exposure to the heavier, denser forces or energies will be considerably reduced.

The second group is those individuals who either are in the process of awakening or have made some progress along the way. This group will be encouraged to do more. They will find that the process is accelerated and opportunities to become fully awakened will increase.

The third group is those who have chosen to remain mired in third dimension reality. This group, especially, will be highly challenged in all areas.

It is at this point that I may sound callous or indifferent. I know that the instinctive response in many people is to immediately offer support, giving their time, energy and money to help those who are struggling. The message I’ve received from the non-physical realms countless times is that everyone has been given the opportunity to shift to higher levels of consciousness, to transform within while Earth also undergoes her major shift. Not everyone has chosen to undertake this process!

Many years ago I was determined to send healing to a lady I felt really needed it. No matter what I did the healing didn’t seem to penetrate, and certainly didn’t change anything. When I questioned why I was told (by non physical beings) to not waste my time on someone who could do their own healing and wasn’t prepared to.

Since that time I’ve come to realize that undergoing an inner shift is often extremely painful and challenging. I’ve also realized that it’s a very personal journey and that gaining mastery over one’s growth and awakening can only happen when it’s undertaken with heart and passion.

As we near the end of 2015 I encourage you to do whatever it takes to be truly who you are, to strip away the layers of ego, and to find your passion and sense of purpose. Do it for yourself, not anyone else!

A New Wave of Consciousness Emerging

How was the first month of 2015 for you? If it was anything like mine it probably felt slow, a bit like a long wet week. During the past month, however, I feel as though I’ve been scoured more than ever – more layers of that proverbial onion being removed. From what I gather it’s been similar for many other people. Unexpected emotions surfacing, old issues reappearing and even people and events from the past re-emerging. What’s it really about? And, why after all this time isn’t the ride as smooth as anticipated?

The word I kept hearing in my head this past month has been ‘refinement’, which I take to mean that there’s been a lot of fine tuning, that we’re being cleared of the denser vibrations in order that the newer, higher frequencies we’re being exposed to and have the potential to hold within can actually become the dominant frequency that is held. This means that the old, stagnant emotions and memories will have less of a grip and are much less likely to interfere with, or impact on, our journey into attaining our goals and aspirations.

During the time that I channelled the energy of Edgar Cayce to audiences in the northeast of the States the message was very clear that a new wave of consciousness is emerging upon the planet. This new consciousness is attributed to several factors.

  1. The conscious intention to create deeper meaning in life involves going within, healing old wounds, letting go, undertaking forgiveness and generally creating a transformative inner shift. Countless people worldwide have been on the quest to higher awareness for many years and have been diligent in shifting their inner landscape significantly.
  2. Significant support now being given by our space brothers and sisters. At the turn of the century I channelled that huge tsunami like waves of energy would be bombarding the earth. These waves of energy hold an incredibly high frequency, designed to lift the darker and heavier energies that have been predominant for too long. These energy ‘waves’ are basically to assist the Earth shift into a higher frequency, and all who live on her to that frequency of functioning.
  3. Children being born in recent years hold a higher frequency than their parents and grandparents. The long awaited Rainbow Warrior race is now being welcomed to the planet, thereby fulfilling a Native American prophecy. It is these beautiful beings who will ultimately shape the planet into its true potential of harmony and peace right across the globe.

Indications of Shift

It is all too easy to view the dark happenings in the world as an indication that nothing is shifting. There are plenty of individuals who are determined to remain in the fear state, expecting the worst and having those expectations confirmed daily when watching news and current affairs media.

However, recently in Australia there have been two very significant indications of this shift in consciousness. Yes, it’s finally shifting from an inner transformation process to become evident in the outer reality!

In the past few months there have been elections held in two states. In both State elections the outcome has been totally unexpected. Both incumbent political parties lost power after only one term in power – a totally unheard of thing in political history.

Does this mean that the voters are fickle or heavily biased toward one party or the other? No, not at all. In fact, voters are expressing dissatisfaction with the performance of their elected representatives and are indicating that displeasure via their vote. Voters now are just as likely to do the same thing next election. People are sending a very clear message to their elected representatives – listen to us, ensure you follow through with promises because we have the power to change things very quickly. In fact, political commentators are already identifying this as a new political history.

I view this as an expression of the shift in consciousness. Individuals and groups are voicing their opinions strongly and indicating that they are not ‘sheeple’, that their voices must be heard. If you look at other institutions it’s likely that the same consciousness shift is being voiced. Some institutions and systems take a while to shift. However, we’re seeing signs of it also with religion and education systems.

Personally I feel that the changes are occurring too slowly – but that’s just my take on things – and when there are signs of change then I begin to feel elated.

Animal Welfare and Conservation

Thanks to the internet and global connectivity we’re rapidly becoming aware of the dangers facing animal species and the increasing extinction rates. As well, we’re able to learn about the consciousness that is occurring as committed individuals and organizations do all that is possible to rehabilitate and save different species.

Especially heartening to see is the ‘communication’ connection occurring between humans and animals, with many of these animals considered to be wild and dangerous. My theory around this is that as we change our frequency from one of fear to one of unconditional love then animals respond accordingly. In fact, I’ve always felt that so-called wild animals are only considered dangerous because they have learned that humans are dangerous to their survival, due to being hunted and slaughtered mercilessly.

One Voice

There are many humanitarian projects being undertaken globally. Thanks to the world wide web it’s now much easier to coordinate days of celebration and awareness on a large scale or globally. This unites people of different races, religions and faiths and backgrounds. There is a much greater celebration of oneness than that of differences.

The increasing number of well researched and well presented documentaries available on just about every aspect of consciousness, improving our lives and the wellbeing of the planet is almost beyond belief. All are geared to assist, support and even guide the general population into deeper thinking, questioning and also taking action where it feels appropriate or necessary.

Lifestyle Changes

Climate change is a huge and contentious issue, as well as posing a real challenge and threat to our existence. How we, as a global community, come to terms with this and modify our lifestyle will determine the ultimate outcome.

It is heartening to see the huge trend towards organic self sustainability and self sufficiency. Cities where garden growing is not only encouraged but actively supported by elected representatives are still relatively new. However, both Vancouver BC and Seattle are great examples of this.

I feel excited when I see more do-it-yourself information on simple ways of creating self-sufficiency in one’s own home and garden. Recently I was fortunate to come across an individual who has achieved amazing results in turning desert into thriving and productive landscape. The link to his work is:

http://www.geofflawton.com/fe/32461-surviving-the-coming-crises?r=y

Ultimately our reliance on corporations and governments to take care of our needs is not guaranteed. Simple changes in lifestyle can, and does, decrease dependence on a system that charges significant dollars for delivery. Along with that decrease in dependence a sense of achievement arises.

Each week I visit one of our many local markets and do all I can to support local growers and producers. The skills and knowledge available locally is comprehensive. While doing this I ask many questions and tend to come away with a desire to know more and to do more for myself, rather than relying on products that are mass produced and shipped here from China.

How are you Manifesting your Consciousness Shift?

This is not a quiz. There are no right or wrong answers. All I ask is that you reflect on your life journey to date. How much have you changed? To what extent have you experienced a shift in consciousness? In what ways are you demonstrating and manifesting that consciousness shift? And, finally, how can you improve on what you are already doing and have already achieved?

Only you have the answers to these questions, and only you are in a position to formulate a plan of action – if it feels appropriate to your needs.

My understanding of this shift is that it’s a process of change, growth and refinement. Possibly there is no end point or destination. The transformation into higher consciousness is your responsibility and yours alone. The extent to which you undergo this process is totally up to you!

Time for Action

No doubt you are feeling the increase in tempo as the frenetic pace of the holiday season encroaches on all other aspects of life. If you are like most people you might find yourself grumbling about the time, energy and costs associated with Christmas, Hannuka, New Year and other social events. It’s as though they all come together in a crunch and society is swept up in the tidal wave of celebration, festivities, social interactions, etc.

Overall, this time of the year is incredibly stressful for many people. At the risk of sounding negative – not meaning to be – there are countless individuals who cannot afford the expense of presents, party and celebratory foods and the expectations foisted upon them to be more than generous with presents.

Yet, regardless of these expectations and consumer pressure to spend and indulge more than in previous years this is also the time of year when more suicides occur. For many individuals in our society this time of year results in heavy credit card debt that may take months to pay off, and which places extra stress on household budgets that are already over-stretched. It’s easy to deduce that depression could easily be a by-product, or end product, of rampant marketing and consumerism.

Over the years I’ve spoken with individuals who like myself don’t subscribe to the concept of celebrating Christmas. However, in many instances they continue with the charade of participating in festivities because of family expectations. Or, possibly because to be different from the mainstream is too challenging?

Don’t get me wrong, I love the practice of spending time with loved ones, of celebrating thankfulness and sharing joyful moments. Ideally these moments should be ongoing, at times when it’s convenient and suitable for family and friends to congregate and share their abundance and love.

Spending time together because the time has been deemed to be one of celebration and cause for great consumerism just doesn’t have any meaning for lots of people any more – yet the charade is often continued!

In earlier missives I’ve referred to the fact that Earth and climate changes are occurring rapidly. Along with these physical changes there are also paradigm shifts taking place.  Yet, it seems that as much as we acknowledge that change is strongly evident there is also an ongoing clinging to old traditions, habits and belief systems. In order for the shift in consciousness to become fully effective and impactful we have no choice but to put into action new practices while letting go of those that are dated and irrelevant to the new heart centered consciousness paradigm we are shifting into.

Stepping away from the dated traditions that have shaped society takes courage. How can we as a global society become more cohesive, live in true community and develop inclusiveness? It is through recognizing the traditions, beliefs and habits that keep us in bondage to systems that we begin making changes.

Identifying the traditions and belief systems that are limiting is the first step. Talking about what isn’t working, what isn’t relevant or applicable is the next step. It is through discussion and sharing that the kernels of new models for functioning develop. Finally, comes the need for action. Without action there is no change. Without action there is no growth and the status quo is maintained.

Below is an excerpt from the new Ram Dass book, “Polishing the Mirror: How to Live from Your Spiritual Heart”.

“Ours is a journey toward simplicity, toward quietness, toward a kind of joy that is not in time. In this journey out of time to “NowHere,” we are leaving behind every model we have had of who we thought we were. This journey involves a transformation of our being so that our thinking mind becomes our servant rather than our master. It’s a journey that takes us from primary identification with our psyche to identification with our souls, then to identification with God, and ultimately beyond any identification at all.”

If we truly are shifting into the Now Moment, or as Ram Dass calls it ‘NowHere’ we then have no choice but to leave behind every model of who we thought we were. This means letting go of traditions, beliefs, dated concepts and paradigms, etc.

Are you truly ready to let go and leave these behind? Are you willing to ‘buck the system’, challenge the beliefs of others, and take action to ensure that what you feel and think is in alignment with all your behaviors?

What will you find when you do this? That remains to be seen. I suspect that you will still be the same person, reveling in the Now Moment, living in appreciation and joyfulness and without the pressures currently being experienced by many at this time of the year.

Personally I feel liberated – freed from expectations and stresses. I choose to not embrace traditions such as Christmas and religion. Instead, I feel so much peace and joy and celebrate the feeling of Oneness in all actions and interactions. However, I will add that it’s taken many years of questioning and reflecting to reach this awareness. It has been a process of letting go, of accepting that it’s okay to not conform, of learning that ultimately the chains of being in bondage were all in my mind.

Where are you on this journey? What can you do to create greater ease within? As always, it’s a matter of choice!

Living With Heart Centered Consciousness

The spiritual movement, often referred to as the New Age movement, continues to expand and evolve. Nowadays it is becoming much more commonplace to hear statements, words or phrases in mainstream communication that once were the considered to be exclusive to the spiritual domain. For example, ‘live in the moment’, ‘being in the flow’, ‘the universe….’, ‘parallel realities’, ‘karma’, ‘heart consciousness’, etc.

There is no doubt we have to thank the internet and the increasing amount of available written and audio information for this shifting of awareness. However, there are times when this surplus of information can be confusing and also contradictory. It is all too easy to be swayed by words or images because they resonate. Then, before too long, exposure to another set of words or images may totally change perception and therefore set up the likelihood of a new set of beliefs or truths.

With this overload of information it can become difficult to ascertain what actually has a real basis for consideration or what may be erroneous. An example of this is the scientific conflict that currently exists regarding global warming. There are many scientists who have supported the claims that Earth’s climate is warming due to greenhouse emissions. Documentaries such as ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ are certainly convincing that we are facing a warming of the Earth’s surface and atmosphere.

Yet, there are probably as many scientists who disagree with the contention that global warming is a real threat to our survival. In fact, their research has identified global cooling with the possible threat of an ice age as being the greatest threat to our survival. The link below gives as much credence to the possibility of global cooling as other research does to the possibility of global warming.

So, how is it possible to live with heart centered consciousness when intellectually and logically we are continually faced with many questions and issues that require our mental faculties to resolve them?

Hearts Have Their Own Consciousness

The heart has its own functional ‘brain’, which has now been acknowledged as a highly complex system. It communicates information to the brain as well as throughout the body via electromagnetic field interactions. In fact, the electrical component of the heart’s field is about 60 times greater than that produced by the brain – and it permeates every cell, atom and molecule in the body. It does this by pulsing waves of energy that radiate out from the heart and interact with organs and all body systems.

It’s been found that emotional states affect heart functioning. As an example, sustained positive emotions give rise to a distinct code of functioning which increases awareness of and sensitivity to others. It’s also been postulated that the heart field is involved in intuitive processing.

Shifting to Heart Centered Consciousness

As with all things, we say and direct our energies to where we aspire to be. For example, once there is awareness of the importance of living in the moment then we continually make reference to this. Our language reinforces the fact that we live in the moment. However, over time there is a repetition of that energy which builds up so that instead of merely repeating the same phrase/words we actually step into the feeling state of living in the moment.

The point I’m making is that talking about something is different to feeling it. Yet, in order to step into the feeling state there has to be plenty of talking, which then leads up to the shift of experiencing the feeling state. Once fully immersed in that feeling state it’s virtually impossible to revert back to just talking about a conceptual experience. The concept actually becomes an experience!

It is the same with shifting to a state of living with heart centered consciousness. Lots of talk precedes the feeling state. Once in the feeling state of heart there is a huge shift on all levels – physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically and spiritually. Being in a feeling state and functioning through the heart center ultimately means that there’s no need to constantly engage in thoughts or to even express words. The energy of being in that state takes precedence and anything that does not resonate with this new state of being feels incredibly uncomfortable.

Shifting to heart centered consciousness however cannot occur until a great deal of inner work has transpired. This involves undertaking healing work on all levels in relation to self and others – and most likely will also involve healing energies from other lifetimes. In the sessions I conduct I’m emphatic that the energy memories based in the lower three chakras require a lot of work in this process. When working solely on the shifting to heart centered consciousness without doing the inner work the result will end up being out of balance. The fear and pain triggers in the lower chakra centers will always manifest, resulting in dissonance and possibly even great anguish and pain.

Techniques for Shifting

I’ve shared these before, but because they are so powerful and critical to the process will list them again. If you’re like me, it’s all too easy to overlook or forget them due to life’s issues and pressures.

  • Give gratitude daily. This is an ongoing process and though what you express gratitude for may change the act of giving gratitude needs to be as ingrained as the act of breathing. When in a true state of living with heart centered consciousness the expression of gratitude does not require sentences or thoughts. It becomes a feeling state and experience.
  • Live in the moment. Find the technique that works for you. Personally I prefer the breathing technique taught by the energy of Edgar Cayce. It works for me and I’ve also had feedback from others as to the high degree of efficacy of breath work in creating the Now moment.
  • Express love daily – and constantly. Whether it be to nature, body, health, friends, family etc. Expressions of love – whether they be verbal, physical or mental/emotional – go a long way to creating that feeling state of heart centeredness.
  • Apply forgiveness to self and others whenever a situation arises that brings up painful memories. Rather than dwelling on the issue or emotion I’ve learned that mentally affirming ‘I love myself, I forgive myself’ is extremely powerful for shifting the pain energy. This can also include an additional statement, ‘I love….., I forgive….’ when in relation to others.
  • Do what you enjoy, what gives you pleasure. The more you do the things that enthuse and inspire you the greater the reduction of inner stress.
  • Let go of toxic situations and people. Sometimes it’s not possible to do this so instead I recommend that letting go of the anxiety and stress reduces the level of inner tension. My favorite mantras in this regard are ‘This too shall pass’ and ‘It is what it is’. This in no way diminishes the nature of the issue or situation. Instead it creates an energetic barrier, distancing you from the situation and allowing greater ease within.
  • Let go of your story. Most people carry memories of experiences that have been painful or abusive – to some extent. Continually talking about those experiences, remembering them, re-visiting the emotions keeps them truly alive and creates an energy trigger that doesn’t abate. I’m not saying ignore or suppress the emotions/pain. Instead, when they surface I’ve found the statement, ‘I release with love….’ to be highly effective in reducing any stored pain. Sometimes that statement needs to be repeated countless times, along with doing forgiveness work, but ultimately is well worth the energy.

Most likely you also have a technique or two that works for you. I would love to hear about them as the more that we share our experiences the wider our community connection becomes!

Moving Forward into 2013

We survived the hype around the December 2012 solstice and life continues on as always. Are you surprised? Did you really expect things would change significantly overnight? Even if we can’t see obvious signs of changes there is no denying that a major transformation is occurring worldwide. This is an inner transformation, and is a gradual, and often, intense process.

President Evo Morales of Bolivia, in a speech to the UN in September 2012 is quoted as saying:

“…according to the Mayan Calendar the 21st December marks the end of the non-time and the beginning of time. It is the end of the Macha and the beginning of the Pacha. It is the end of selfishness and the beginning of brotherhood. It is the end of individualism and the beginning of collectivism… the end of hatred and the beginning of love. The end of lies and the beginning of truth. It is the end of sadness and the beginning of joy. It is the end of division and the beginning of unity….”

What a beautiful description of the transformation process. Are you able to visualize just how this change is going to manifest? Or, how the inner changes you are experiencing are contributing to the conscious collective’s transformation?

There is no doubt that 2012 was an intense year for practically everyone. Challenges include finances, relationships, family, friendships, self worth, along with added grief as a large number of souls chose 2012 as the time to transition from the Earth plane.

In numerology 2012 is a “5” year, which denotes ‘Change’. The coming year, 2013, is a “6” year and will bring with it some challenges but overall should be more steady. According to Ellin Dodge:

“2013…The year of the “Cosmic Parent” when the universe aims to find domestic balance, harmony and comfort.  Blue is the Universal color. In general, the focus in every country around the world is inward and on a stronger sense of responsibility…family values, domestic changes, educational and health reforms and advances –  lots of weddings – food products, home products, community politics, civic improvements and the housing market returns. The music industry surges forward.  Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart and home improvement and home decorating businesses break all records.  All children born in 2013 will live “The Wisdom Cycle”…their last cycle of life, in comfort, surrounded by loving families.

Challenging problems arise from unwillingness to make adjustments, stubbornness, unyielding ideals and self-righteousness.  The new ideas begin in April and rise up in June.  February and November bring focuses on actively solving problems, money, big business and bring January and October underlying problems to a head…Universally, it’s all about taking responsibility, fulfilling obligations, nurturing our families and improving our immediate neighborhood in 2013.”

Basically I see that we all have responsibility – individually and collectively – to transform our reality. It’s our duty and obligation – for the sake of our children and grandchildren – to clean up the environmental messes created worldwide;  to rid our world of toxins that are creating illness and disease;  to create an environment that is conducive to healthy learning and joyful participation in all aspects of life;  to create a stronger, vital sense of community and self-sustainability;  to foster unity and oneness;  and to nurture the brilliance and gifts that our young children bring with them into this lifetime.

The younger generation is the one that holds the responsibility for bringing Earth back into balance, this is what they have incarnated for. Whatever steps we take to support their growth and awareness will definitely speed up the process of inner transformation, and will ultimately be manifested in our shared co-created reality.

As we move into 2013 let’s all aspire – in whatever ways feel appropriate – to transform aspects of our reality that no longer are in harmony with the essence that is within. It’s time to become more proactive in determining our true purpose and then living that purpose/meaning for being here to the utmost of our abilities.
If you are uncertain about becoming more proactive then this youtube video may be just the inspiration you are seeking.
The journey post-Mayan Calendar has commenced. The journey will take us wherever we choose to go. Let’s choose wisely and with foresight!
