Energy Flows Where Attention Goes

Energy Flows Where Attention Goes

How do you see yourself and the world at large at this point in time? Are you caught up in being right about a situation, having strong beliefs about how things should be? Or, are you finding fault about a lot of things that are happening in your community, country or globally? Do you blame others for the way things seem to be? Are you getting frustrated because there’s so much change happening and it’s unsettling, creating uncertainty? I could ask a lot more generic questions yet I suspect that on some level you’re beginning to understand what I’m attempting to say.

Years ago I came across the above saying, “Energy Flows Where Attention Goes”, and learned that it was a Shaman saying. It’s only now as I observe the upheaval, chaos and uncertainty globally that I’m seeing the full truth behind this statement.

Allow me to make some observations. It seems that there’s a lot of anger surfacing in the States since the November presidential election, and that this anger continues to fester. At first it appeared (via the reports shown here in Australia) that the anticipated winner’s loss upset her supporters. Since then however there seems to be growing anger and righteousness expressed by her supporters, along with increasing smear campaigns and a great deal of ‘fake news’ being reported. It’s gotten to the stage that it’s difficult, or even impossible, to know what is the truth. However, the energy of anger, resentment, frustration doesn’t seem to be abating and possibly now it’s feeding itself because it’s become so intense.

In Australia, the anti-Muslim energy is growing with definite polarities becoming evident within society. The protester clashes are becoming more violent. In fact, there are more protests occurring over a number of political issues, with vitriol, anger and increasing calls to action by those venting their frustrations with systems that are failing.

Worldwide there is massive change occurring – Brexit being one example, another indication is the jailing of Iceland’s corrupt bankers and politicians resulting in its withdrawal from the International Monetary Fund, there are massive public protests and rallies occurring in countless countries including Indonesia, South Korea, the South American continent, and so on.

In other words there seems to be a massive call for change, for improvement in systems and living conditions. Yet I ask myself whether there’s any likelihood of real and lasting change when the energy of simmering rage, frustration and anger continues unabated. History has taught us that change from upheaval, coups and violence doesn’t work, it only produces more of the same in the long run. So, what are viable options for creating positive change?

Take Nothing Personally

Wow, now that’s a strong statement. How is it possible to take nothing personally when there are things taking place that are distasteful, wrong, and unlawful? Over 20 years ago I came across this wisdom and it’s been invaluable. When encountering something that is upsetting there are three possible options for dealing with that situation. If it’s none of your business then let it be; if it’s about you or affects you then it’s up to you to make changes, providing those changes are made in integrity; and if it’s up to someone else to fix then let them.

Nowadays I recommend that thought processes include both love and compassion, many times daily. When a situation arises over which there is no personal control, but which exerts a negative response within, then sending love, compassion and healing to that person or situation is far more productive than holding onto anger or frustration. The benefits of large group meditation in changing an energy or situation have been well demonstrated time and again. Now, more than ever it’s important to let go of attachment or expectations around other people, circumstances and instead send the powerful healing vibration of love.

Let Go Of Ego

How much of the anger being expressed is ego feeding on the dramas? In his book, A New Earth by Eckhardt Tolle he explores the many facets of ego and it’s a must read book for everyone! Once you understand the extent to which responses and perceptions are governed by ego’s need for instability, drama and emotional dissatisfaction you’ll then begin to harness its damaging impact and begin to make subtle shifts in both perception and in how you deal with situations and issues.

It’s understandable that frustration and anger surface when situations become untenable. Yet, there are positive and healthy ways of channeling that anger so that it can become a constructive energy of change and growth. Abraham, channeled by Esther Hicks listed an emotional scale, with depression as the lowest of emotions and bliss as the highest and a whole range of other emotions between those two. Interestingly anger was listed as being just above depression and in the discourse Abraham indicated that anger, when used constructively can bring about positive changes.

Ego demands instant gratification, via outbursts, emotional upheaval and uncertainty, feelings of righteousness, and more. Instead of feeding this need it’s far healthier to engage in practices that foster problem solving, calmness, co-operation. Simple activities such as meditation, listening to gentle music, deep breathing and consciously letting go of ego’s demand for action allows you to be in the moment, to become appreciative and to express gratitude.

Live in the Moment

Being fully present in the moment is a state that is often aspired to, but one which can be more challenging to maintain. Right now, due to the uncertainty and turmoil in the world, you have no choice but to focus your energy and attention to what is happening right now. Everything may change in a heartbeat, tomorrow is still a long time away. Being fully present in whatever you are doing enables you to fully embrace that experience, regardless of its significance or otherwise. Often the mindless moments are the most important. Simply appreciating nature or the feel of your breath or the wind in your hair can lift a mood into one of simply being one with all that is.

What can you do in the moment that can make a difference to your wellbeing and to that of others? Being fully present with whatever is occurring is a gift; it means that your mind, and possibly ego, are not focused elsewhere. You are directing energy consciously, rather than being distracted by all sorts of mental gymnastics where your mind imagines worst case scenarios.

Another significant benefit of living in the moment is that it has real health benefits. It’s well documented that thoughts and words have an energy impact. The research by Dr Emoto attests to the power of both positive and negative thoughts on frozen water molecules. As the human body is over 70% water it’s worthwhile reframing negative thoughts into positives at every opportunity because whatever you think has an impact. When being fully present in the moment there’s an added benefit as there’s less thinking and with that reduced stress on the body.

Everyone is a Mirror

The outer world is a reflection of the inner. The current worldwide unrest reflects the inner turmoil that’s within humanity. The conscious collective is undergoing a massive shift and all that is residing within and has been festering for eons is finally erupting. And, it’s not necessarily a pretty sight but nevertheless is a significant part of the change process. When you feel anger, impatience or other emotions around a person or situation ask ‘What is that showing me about myself? Why am I reacting so strongly?’

What you see in others is what you have within. What annoys you about someone reflects something that you need to heal. In her book, The Body is the Barometer of the Soul, Annette Noontil shares a personal story. Her intolerance of and anger towards people who litter was intense. When she meditated on what she herself needed to heal she received a clear message that while she didn’t actually litter stuff she wasted lots of time. In wasting time she was littering her energy on little things.

Once this process of self analysis and understanding takes place any intolerance and anger towards others dissolves as self healing takes place. The actions of others provide a perfect opportunity for inner growth and shifting awareness, resulting in increased acceptance and tolerance of whatever is occurring elsewhere.

Remember the Big Picture

It is all too easy to focus on the little things that are creating discordant energies and dissatisfaction. However, it’s important from time to time to stop and reflect on all that’s been learned in your journey. Prior to incarnating you knew that you would be coming into a world filled with turmoil, just as you knew that this turmoil would precede positive changes. Without the turmoil and uncertainty there can be no changes!

When I channeled the energy of Edgar Cayce he stated, many times, that this would be a process involving both pain and discomfort. However, he also pointed out that this process would ultimately result in many years of peace on the planet.

This is what I mean when I suggest that you remember the big picture. There are two possible options ahead for humanity and the planet. The first, which is ultimate destruction of all is a possibility, yet is not one that I’ll even put any energy into exploring. The second option is the one that Edgar Cayce stressed – a balanced and healthy world, where peace and harmony are predominant. It is this big picture that I know is possible. It’s possible because you have the ability to maintain steadfast with positive determination, to maintain a vibration of love towards everyone and everything. It’s the power of love, compassion and acceptance of what is happening that will eventually become the overriding frequency that supports the changes constructively.

At every opportunity – countless times daily – I encourage you to send love and healing to humanity, to Earth and to situations that sorely need to be lifted into that vibration. The more this is done by everyone the stronger and more dominant it becomes, until such time that a tipping point is reached and a complete shift occurs.

Jointly we have the power to make this shift – it’s up to you and I and everyone else to be the way showers in this regard. Remember, energy flows where attention goes!

A New Wave of Consciousness Emerging

How was the first month of 2015 for you? If it was anything like mine it probably felt slow, a bit like a long wet week. During the past month, however, I feel as though I’ve been scoured more than ever – more layers of that proverbial onion being removed. From what I gather it’s been similar for many other people. Unexpected emotions surfacing, old issues reappearing and even people and events from the past re-emerging. What’s it really about? And, why after all this time isn’t the ride as smooth as anticipated?

The word I kept hearing in my head this past month has been ‘refinement’, which I take to mean that there’s been a lot of fine tuning, that we’re being cleared of the denser vibrations in order that the newer, higher frequencies we’re being exposed to and have the potential to hold within can actually become the dominant frequency that is held. This means that the old, stagnant emotions and memories will have less of a grip and are much less likely to interfere with, or impact on, our journey into attaining our goals and aspirations.

During the time that I channelled the energy of Edgar Cayce to audiences in the northeast of the States the message was very clear that a new wave of consciousness is emerging upon the planet. This new consciousness is attributed to several factors.

  1. The conscious intention to create deeper meaning in life involves going within, healing old wounds, letting go, undertaking forgiveness and generally creating a transformative inner shift. Countless people worldwide have been on the quest to higher awareness for many years and have been diligent in shifting their inner landscape significantly.
  2. Significant support now being given by our space brothers and sisters. At the turn of the century I channelled that huge tsunami like waves of energy would be bombarding the earth. These waves of energy hold an incredibly high frequency, designed to lift the darker and heavier energies that have been predominant for too long. These energy ‘waves’ are basically to assist the Earth shift into a higher frequency, and all who live on her to that frequency of functioning.
  3. Children being born in recent years hold a higher frequency than their parents and grandparents. The long awaited Rainbow Warrior race is now being welcomed to the planet, thereby fulfilling a Native American prophecy. It is these beautiful beings who will ultimately shape the planet into its true potential of harmony and peace right across the globe.

Indications of Shift

It is all too easy to view the dark happenings in the world as an indication that nothing is shifting. There are plenty of individuals who are determined to remain in the fear state, expecting the worst and having those expectations confirmed daily when watching news and current affairs media.

However, recently in Australia there have been two very significant indications of this shift in consciousness. Yes, it’s finally shifting from an inner transformation process to become evident in the outer reality!

In the past few months there have been elections held in two states. In both State elections the outcome has been totally unexpected. Both incumbent political parties lost power after only one term in power – a totally unheard of thing in political history.

Does this mean that the voters are fickle or heavily biased toward one party or the other? No, not at all. In fact, voters are expressing dissatisfaction with the performance of their elected representatives and are indicating that displeasure via their vote. Voters now are just as likely to do the same thing next election. People are sending a very clear message to their elected representatives – listen to us, ensure you follow through with promises because we have the power to change things very quickly. In fact, political commentators are already identifying this as a new political history.

I view this as an expression of the shift in consciousness. Individuals and groups are voicing their opinions strongly and indicating that they are not ‘sheeple’, that their voices must be heard. If you look at other institutions it’s likely that the same consciousness shift is being voiced. Some institutions and systems take a while to shift. However, we’re seeing signs of it also with religion and education systems.

Personally I feel that the changes are occurring too slowly – but that’s just my take on things – and when there are signs of change then I begin to feel elated.

Animal Welfare and Conservation

Thanks to the internet and global connectivity we’re rapidly becoming aware of the dangers facing animal species and the increasing extinction rates. As well, we’re able to learn about the consciousness that is occurring as committed individuals and organizations do all that is possible to rehabilitate and save different species.

Especially heartening to see is the ‘communication’ connection occurring between humans and animals, with many of these animals considered to be wild and dangerous. My theory around this is that as we change our frequency from one of fear to one of unconditional love then animals respond accordingly. In fact, I’ve always felt that so-called wild animals are only considered dangerous because they have learned that humans are dangerous to their survival, due to being hunted and slaughtered mercilessly.

One Voice

There are many humanitarian projects being undertaken globally. Thanks to the world wide web it’s now much easier to coordinate days of celebration and awareness on a large scale or globally. This unites people of different races, religions and faiths and backgrounds. There is a much greater celebration of oneness than that of differences.

The increasing number of well researched and well presented documentaries available on just about every aspect of consciousness, improving our lives and the wellbeing of the planet is almost beyond belief. All are geared to assist, support and even guide the general population into deeper thinking, questioning and also taking action where it feels appropriate or necessary.

Lifestyle Changes

Climate change is a huge and contentious issue, as well as posing a real challenge and threat to our existence. How we, as a global community, come to terms with this and modify our lifestyle will determine the ultimate outcome.

It is heartening to see the huge trend towards organic self sustainability and self sufficiency. Cities where garden growing is not only encouraged but actively supported by elected representatives are still relatively new. However, both Vancouver BC and Seattle are great examples of this.

I feel excited when I see more do-it-yourself information on simple ways of creating self-sufficiency in one’s own home and garden. Recently I was fortunate to come across an individual who has achieved amazing results in turning desert into thriving and productive landscape. The link to his work is:

Ultimately our reliance on corporations and governments to take care of our needs is not guaranteed. Simple changes in lifestyle can, and does, decrease dependence on a system that charges significant dollars for delivery. Along with that decrease in dependence a sense of achievement arises.

Each week I visit one of our many local markets and do all I can to support local growers and producers. The skills and knowledge available locally is comprehensive. While doing this I ask many questions and tend to come away with a desire to know more and to do more for myself, rather than relying on products that are mass produced and shipped here from China.

How are you Manifesting your Consciousness Shift?

This is not a quiz. There are no right or wrong answers. All I ask is that you reflect on your life journey to date. How much have you changed? To what extent have you experienced a shift in consciousness? In what ways are you demonstrating and manifesting that consciousness shift? And, finally, how can you improve on what you are already doing and have already achieved?

Only you have the answers to these questions, and only you are in a position to formulate a plan of action – if it feels appropriate to your needs.

My understanding of this shift is that it’s a process of change, growth and refinement. Possibly there is no end point or destination. The transformation into higher consciousness is your responsibility and yours alone. The extent to which you undergo this process is totally up to you!

Do You Feel Invisible?

It is interesting to feel and observe the changes that are occurring internally and externally during this time of transformation. I always reflect on what I observe happening ‘out there’ and endeavor to understand how the outer events are a reflection of what is, or has been, transpiring within.

When speaking with other people it is surprising to hear that our experiences, while unique to each individual, are essentially similar. Interpretations and understanding of experiences are often expressed differently but take away the language component of explanation and interpretation then differences are actually not that great.

For example, more and more I encounter people who share experiences where they have felt as though they were invisible. Common situations include those waiting to be served in a store and being overlooked or being in a group situation but not being noticed. The common thread is that individuals comment they feel totally invisible, as though their presence is not observed or felt by others.

What does this signify? Is it actually becoming more prevalent? And, why does this happen to some people and not others?

I believe this is one of the symptoms, or side-effects, of the changes that occur energetically as we become more consciously aware. A great deal has been written about shifting from 3rd to 5th dimensional frequency, about shifting from lower density to holding higher vibrations, or as I channeled during the years I was connected to the energy of Edgar Cayce it’s about becoming multi-dimensional.

Scientifically it’s been shown that all living things hold bio-photon energy within their cellular structure. Cayce (from channeled information) insists that the ‘junk DNA’ our bodies hold is being activated as there is a shift in consciousness, thereby increasing the amount of bio-photon light held by the body. Interestingly, I recently read a scientific article that supported this claim.

As we shift into the higher frequencies our bodies hold more light. Some individuals are shifting rapidly, others not so. The implication is that individuals whose bodies are more light filled may not be as physically visible to those whose frequencies are not on a similar wavelength.

It can be frustrating to be overlooked time and again. If this has happened to you I’m sure you’ll understand just what I’m saying. Getting served in restaurants, stores and institutions can become challenging. Even socializing at events can feel like a dismal affair.

Rather than focusing on the annoyances I’ve found there are advantages to being ‘invisible’. Generally I am left alone to do ‘my thing’ – it is as though I am left to my own devices. Life definitely flows ever so much more effortlessly. There are certainly fewer interpersonal challenges. And, there is an enhanced feeling of being balanced and having inner stability.

My experience of being invisible is not unique, as I’ve discussed the experiences with others who also find this happening. One of the biggest benefits is to health and wellbeing.

Sickness and susceptibility to viruses, bacteria and pathogens become a thing of the past. It’s a gradual process but over time it becomes apparent that the body functions in much healthier ways and remains healthy even when there are viruses that are seriously affecting the larger population.

In the channeled messages from Edgar Cayce he stated this was one of the outcomes that can be anticipated as our bodies hold more light. Given the huge amounts of money being spent annually on health related issues and conditions being ‘invisible’ can be considered advantageous.

If you are feeling challenged and are unsure of just how to shift your energy to higher frequencies I will be exploring this topic in greater depth in the February newsletter.

Ease and Grace – a Possibility or Illusion?

The thought of a life of ease and grace holds great appeal, especially when stress, conflict and challenges continually surface. New Age and spiritual teachings have certainly taught us that it is possible to live in a state of bliss, and this is certainly worth aspiring to. Yet, given the nature of the reality we have co-created within our communities, nationally and globally how is it really possible to attain even a state of ease, much less inner peace?

A common theme expressed by clients is the desire to live with less stress, more freedom and greater joy. However, when it comes to seriously giving consideration to basic lifestyle needs it becomes challenging to contemplate making changes that will enhance the quality of life.

It seems – from my observations over many years – that countless individuals are now at a ‘crunch’ time in their lives. Employment, finances, relationships, friendships and family issues are in some way impeding free will and also creating significant stress. The desire for change is great though may seem impossible to create, adding further fuel to feelings of frustration and dissatisfaction.

The conundrum is self-evident. The yearning for improvement in lifestyle and relationships intensifies while the feeling of being caught up in a never-ending cycle of life circumstances prevents real and positive change from occurring. How is it possible to commence the change process? What is needed to begin the journey into living with greater ease and grace?

There are a number of recommendations I suggest as being worthwhile. They include:

  • stop the pattern of continual thinking. This, while it sounds impossible, is actually the first step to creating a new, improved reality. While channeling Edgar Cayce he strongly recommended using breath work as a mechanism for bringing attention into the now moment. When doing this the constant mental gymnastics that create inner conflict ceases and brings about a feeling of distance from the challenges, resulting in increased clarity around concerns and issues;
  • ensure that daily gratitude practice is undertaken. This practice is expressed in the present tense, never as a future outcome. Gratitude practice is a powerful tool for manifesting change;
  • spend time in nature and sunshine. Taking time out from the demands of life offers an opportunity to shift perspective, clear the mind and refresh the spirit;
  • let go of the need to be responsible for everyone else. Allow others the opportunity to grow and learn as they take on the reins of responsibility for their life. This allows you to enjoy the beauty that exists in your reality and which you may have lost sight of;
  • meditate daily. There are many forms of meditation, find one that resonates and use this time to rejuvenate yourself;
  • believe in your ability to create the desired changes; and
  • take regular small steps in making change. As you change your thinking everything changes. As you let go of attachments you free yourself to experience greater joy. As you engage in creative pursuits you then find creative solutions to life’s concerns.

There is only the now moment. It is yours to use wisely or to squander. Over time there have been many profound teachings and words of wisdom to provide guidance. I feel this statement, by the famous ‘Unknown’ provides a sound basis for reflection:  “If you are depressed you are living in the past; if you are anxious you are living in the future; if you are at peace you are living in the moment.”

Start now and you will find that many small changes add up. Over time you will feel improvement in thinking and feelings, ultimately resulting in a life of greater ease and grace.

Life is about having ‘Experiences’

I was privileged to channel the energy of Edgar Cayce to audiences in the northeast USA for about three years. During this time many questions relating to health, career, life purpose, and other core issues were asked by individuals. In one gathering, Cayce was asked about an incident experienced by an individual and the lesson to which that incident related.

His response began with, “Why does there have to be a lesson? It is because of the teachings of the churches…. Unfortunately, from where I sit now I’m able to see a bigger picture. I see control and power by those who lay down the law as to how things are. When it comes to lessons, that’s not what life is about. Lessons are a man-made concept.”

From an early age we are reminded by parents, teachers, and others in positions of authority that we have lessons to learn, and if we haven’t learned particular lessons then we are at fault. We are reminded continually, and often lovingly, that we are not doing enough or that we have to try harder. As a culture we have become inculcated into believing that somehow life is about lessons. The harder we apply ourselves the greater the likelihood of success. The yardstick of measurement is constantly at work. Will we pass or is it likely that another failure is in store? Are we going to disappoint our superiors, parents, teachers, once again?

Edgar Cayce mentioned the teachings of the churches. How often are we reminded that “man is born into sin,” or that “we are born into suffering.” It does not matter whether one is of the Roman Catholic or Buddhist faiths, the message is the same. We are not good enough; we are flawed, inadequate and, in order to overcome these characteristics, we must make atonement throughout life. Continual striving and self-judgment become normalized within the psyche as a result.

Am I the only one who questions the concept of life being a series of “lessons” that need to be learned? Sometimes I feel as though we have become so heavily entrenched in this belief system that we have lost sight of our real purpose for having the human experience.

Ask yourself if you have learned a particular lesson? Then as you do this, take note of how you feel inside. Every time you feel you have not mastered yet another of the countless lessons that life has a way of throwing in your direction you add to the accumulated feelings of inadequacy, lack, and unworthiness.

Lessons are a reminder of school. If you pass you receive approval, breathe a sigh of relief, and brace yourself for the next lesson to be mastered. If you fail – and failure tends to be more common than success – then it merely adds to the inner feelings of confusion, resulting in additional feelings of futility.

Life is not a school. School is a man-made concept that keeps you from attaining your true purpose and understanding. It prevents you from living your life to its fullest potential due to the fear-induced lessons and initiations you are continually reminded that exist.

There is, instead, a liberating and powerful alternative way of perceiving and experiencing life. Not as a series of lessons to be mastered but as an amazing journey of self-discovery and realization.

Edgar Cayce, in a private communication, shared that the soul embodies in order to have experiences. Through these experiences, awareness and understanding develop. As a result, the soul evolves to higher levels of consciousness. Isn’t this a much gentler way of viewing and experiencing the journey of life in all its challenges?

Even the countless spiritual and New Age teachers who are proliferating their messages of inspiration and meaning continue to espouse the concept of “lessons.” Unfortunately, they too are a product of their conditioning, and all too often are not prone to deeply questioning the religious “truths” that have been promulgated.

As Einstein is quoted as saying, “The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”

If we are to experience a true paradigm shift, we have no choice but to question deeply all accepted beliefs and doctrines. Where teachings and beliefs result in individuals feeling inadequate, inferior, or inept then they lack merit. Our soul purpose is to evolve, and soul evolvement can only be achieved in the highest vibrations with best intentions that highlight our inherent goodness and value.
